How the target price is calculated
The US planning model applies transaction and payment processing percentages to item price plus buyer-paid shipping. It adds fixed processing and listing fees, then solves analytically for the order total needed to reach the desired profit margin.
Offsite Ads uses 0%, 12%, or 15% of the modeled order total and applies Etsy’s $100 cap per attributed order. Sales tax is excluded from seller revenue and profit. Etsy’s actual payment-processing base may include applicable sales tax, but this calculator models seller-controlled order economics without asking you to predict tax.
Defaults are a $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, and US Etsy Payments processing of 3% + $0.25. This is a planning estimate; account and order-specific fees can differ.
