How discount profit is calculated
Profit equals sale price after discount minus product cost, fulfillment, other costs, and Shopify Payments processing. The maximum target-margin discount solves for the lowest sale price that still preserves the chosen margin.
The volume comparison divides regular-price monthly profit by discounted per-order profit. It shows the mathematical order requirement only and does not imply that a promotion will create additional sales.
Default US online standard card rates are Basic 2.9% + $0.30, Grow 2.7% + $0.30, and Advanced 2.5% + $0.30. Confirm account-specific rates in Shopify admin; all fee fields remain editable.
